Cold Therapy
This Neck Wrap combines cold therapy, support, and compression in a single, easy to use wrap that can be worn over or under clothes, with NO ICY MESS. Typical users of this wrap are those suffering from whiplash, headaches, stiff neck or trigger points in the upper back and/or sternocleidomastoid muscles in the neck causing frequent headaches.
This cold compression wrap is a highly endorsed product on About.com and is also endorsed by the Mayo Clinic as the best combination brace and cold pack for athletic injuries.
To use, place the wrap in a freezer for about an hour to freeze the sewn-in gels. Then, apply and tighten the frozen wrap to achieve compression and drive the cold deep into the soft tissues surrounding the neck to stop or reduce pain. The wrap will drive cold into the neck and lower the internal tissue temperature by 10 degrees or more. Immediate relief of neck and upper back pain is obtained and lasts for several hours.
Application of the wrap in its frozen state several times a day will stop inflammation and minimize pain. If used over a long term, the body will use its energy to heal the injured tissues instead of leaking blood and fluid into the injured area (which causes inflammation and pain).
The compression drives the cold deep into the muscles of the neck to provide soothing relief and faster recovery from sore and swollen muscles and/or tendons. The sooner a whiplash injury is treated, the faster the recovery time. Continued use of a frozen cold compression wrap will help an injured neck heal faster. It reduces swelling and pain significantly, and gets the patient back to a natural state.
Our Cold Compression wraps are constructed with an outer layer of nitrogen blown neoprene, a middle layer of sewn in refreezable gels, and an inner layer of rubberized linen (see image). All three layers stretch together to provide compression you can adjust to your comfort level. The wrap provides excellent cold/ice therapy, plus compression to reduce swelling and neck pain from injury or prevent recurrence of injury. This is the modality most recommended by MD's, sports trainers, and physical therapists.
The Cold Compression Neck Wrap can be used against skin or over clothing, with NO messy ice or condensation.
This is MD and trainer recommended therapy.
